About Me

Welcome!

My name is Jordin Danielson,

I am a Professional Counselor Associate working in Portland, Oregon. As a young adult, I chose this career path, and my passion for the field continues to grow. Primarily focusing on clients involved in the criminal justice system, I have been a practicing clinician for about 6 years and have gained experience with a multitude of mental health concerns. My chosen career path has given me perspective, faced me with unique challenges, and helped shape the therapist that I am today.

While completing my Master's program in Clinical Mental Health counseling, I chose an internship with youth clients, which is where I was faced with a new set of challenges, and many more rewards. There, I discovered my capabilities went beyond adults, and I explored additional avenues to engage with my clients. I believe that every person deserves support and is capable of change. I am nonjudgmental, open-minded and have a strong sense of empathy. My experience includes work with individuals who are both survivors and perpetrators of violence, abuse, and a multitude of other traumatic experiences. Listening is my greatest strength, and I believe in letting clients form their own path. My goal is to guide you, not to direct you, by challenging the behaviors that might be hindering growth. The importance of individualized treatment will be emphasized in my client relationships - no single approach works for all - so I will continue challenging myself and strive to work collaboratively to discover the best approach for each client. I have extensive experience with cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as motivational interviewing, and always utilize a trauma informed approach.

I believe in making our time worthwhile - I want to help you live your life to your full potential, so I am committed to being a supportive presence and advocate. I seek to empower each of my clients to improve their mental wellness and equip them with the skills needed to sustain this growth.

I look forward to connecting with you!
